Here we have the Cadillac of all tents. The Wenzel Grand Lodge is the perfect choice if you have a large family or several dogs tagging along. You’ll have all the space you could need in a convenient and easy layout – but don’t park too far from your pitch!
Main Features
Although the Wenzel Grand Lodge is massive, it has been well though out so as it fits comfortably within a standard campground pitch. This means that in general you are not restricted in where you can go as with some other large family tents.
Remarkably, this tent can be easily set up by a single adult! So if you’re other half is busy entertaining the kids that’s OK, you can get the job done single handed.
Although the layout is basic, being just 2 rooms, this makes for easy pitching, usage and access.
Full standing height is obviously a feature of the Wenzel Grand Lodge, truly making it your home away from home without the familiar camping back ache.
Weather Armor fabric us used for the outer skin but don’t be lulled into a false sense of security. Make sure you seals the seams against heavy rain before setting out.
The Wenzel Grand Lodge has a removable rain fly giving ultimate air flow through the mesh roof but this has it’s draw backs. Heat retention can be an issue over such a large area when the temperature drops so make sure you read our user suggestions to remedy this issue.
The rain fly can have problems of holding water but this is easily solved by pegging it out independently. This is explained further in our worst points section.
Wenzel’s excellent welded tub floor makes sure your gear stays dry from the ground. Without any stitching in the corners, water can’t seep in so you don’t get any damp soggy corners to mess up your bedding.
So let’s look now at the best and worst points of the Wenzel Grand Lodge. We also list all the dimensions, statistics and a valuable collection of user opinions and reviews.
