Since its founding in 1959, the company has RÖDER one of the world leader in the tent industry and established many, partly revolutionary developments in the market.

1959 Established for the production of tents with wooden frames
1975 Mass-production of the first clear-span aluminium tent structure
1976 Establishment of the first subsidiary in France
1984 Introduction of the first Two-Storey-Tent: a world first
1985 – 1995 Expansion of the international operations through foreign subsidiaries and agencies/joint-ventures in around 20 countries
1992 Introduction on the stock exchange
1994 Take over of the majority shareholding by Klöckner & Co AG
1998 Take over of the majority shareholding by plettac AG
1999 Acquisition of the product range „Textiles Bauen“ of plettac AG
2001 Renewal of the exclusive Formula One contract for further three years
2002 Management Buy Out by the Management Team Rüdiger Blasius, Jens Brüggemann, Martin Osbeck und Thomas Roman
2004 Award of a tender for the Olympic Games 2004 in Athens / Renewal of Formula One Contract (3 Years)
2006 Supply of the Football World Championship in Germany and renewal of the exclusive Formula One contract for further three years
2006 Foundation of two new RÖDER subsidiaries RODER O.O.O. in Russia and RÖDER Yapi Systemleri Ltd. in Turkey
2007 Strategic orientated expansion of the shareholder structure: partnership with Zurmont Madison as the new majority shareholder
