About Us

We are mad about camping, we go away somewhere different every year.  Last year we were at Devon and the year before that we went to the North of Scotland.  We started with a small tent just for the 2 of us and then loved it so much we bought a larger tent when the family came along.  Our daughters were only 9 months when they were first introduced to camping and love the freedom it brings them.  Now we have everything from the tent to a heater and a clothes airer, we even enjoy it when its raining – you just have to make the most of it.

We decided on this small business after hearing the same old thing year after year – “we’ve often thought about camping but don’t want to spent a fortune on all the gear” or “we bought a small tent to try camping and love it so much we are going to get a bigger one” and so Border Tent Hire was formed. Try before you buy camping.

Welcome to Tangerine Fields
We have created Tangerine Fields because we know that, rain or shine, festivals are
all about great music, great friends and great times, not faffing about with tent poles.

Tangerine Fields are now at most UK festivals with their tent hire and pitch service
and make the camping extra special and ultra easy. All you have to do is book your
tent in advance through our booking page and carry your beer/children on the day.
We’ll meet you at the festival with a ready pitched tent
We have 2, 4 and 6 man tents (we use roomy tents so you won’t feel squashed in),
and we’ll provide you with airbeds and new sleeping bags, which go onto a number
of local and national homeless charities after use.  We can also provide camping
stoves and kettles.

Once you’re in, we let you get on with dancing and drinking, then come hometime
we’ll wave goodbye to you before taking down the tent and packing away the beds
leaving you to head home for a proper cup of tea and some well earned early nights.
If you choose to book in a group with friends, we can guarantee a great spot where
you’re all camped together. We set up in 2003 and with the help of some great
customers, we’ve learnt a lot about making your time with us extra special and we
want to continue getting it right, so any thoughts or feedback is very welcome.

As well as providing a service at the UK festivals, we can offer bespoke camping and
event services, so if you’re looking to arrange something special for a large group,

Tent Pro’s roots go back to the late 1980’s with the reconditioning of ex South African Army canvas tents. These tents made from heavy duty "rip-block" canvas are well known and trusted for their strength and durability. We developed a production process to fully recondition the tents that we buy directly from army auctions.
 
To date Tent Pro manufactures new 5×5m and 5×10m tents from heavy duty rip-block canvas. With good stocks of new and reconditioned canvas tents we are well positioned in the Southern African market to supply heavy duty canvas tents and a range of general army surplus items to the public sector. 
We currently supply canvas tents and surplus items to customers from the mining, agricultural, building, geological and service industries, as well as to Disaster Relief Agencies and for temporary housing.
 
Tent Pro is situated outside Pretoria off the R21 to Kempton Park in the Irene Rietvlei Dam area.
